Again this year RONAL and SPEEDLINE CORSE moved together with Pirelli to the Green Hell to participate in the 24h rece at Nürburgring. Following the motto: "Go to hell and stay all weekend". Our conclusion - it was one of the toughest and most difficult races of our career
Under the new name "SPEEDLINE RACING team" we drove with nearly 150 volunteers from RONAL and Pirelli to compete alongside 160 other starters for victory at the toughest endurance race in the world. This year we sent three cars into the race in an iconic Nordschleife look: The well-known and popular "Zetti" BMW Z4 GT3 of the PP Group in the SP9 class, accompanied by a BMW M4 GT (Walkenhorst Motosport) and a BMW M2 GT (TomCri Motorsport), which competed in the SP8T class. All three vehicles on specially made SPEEDLINE CORSE motorsport wheels in white-black or red-black. Real eye-catchers!
The team started Wednesday at the traditional Adenauer Racing Day - a must for all fans and their favorites like the "Zetti". Whether during interviews, photos or signing autographs - there were no barriers between drivers and fans. RONAL and SPEEDLINE were also in the drivers' lounge throughout the entire event. In the fan tent visitors could experience the "Taxi-Zetti" live, inform themselves about the latest wheel trends and win great prizes at the Hashtag sign promo. And of course watch the race live on a big screen.
On Saturday at noon the fans had the chance once again to throw themselves completely into the racing turmoil and experience the driver and team up close at the "Gridwalk" (the starting line-up), including a large signature campaign on the Zetti. The start went smoothly, but the Z4 suffered an engine failure during the race. The team replaced the entire V8 racing engine during an almost 9-hour overnight screwdriver operation, allowing the Zetti to be sent back on track. The situation worsened when the Z4 crashed in the morning hours marking the end of the race for the car.
The other two cars, however, successfully crossed the finish line, the BMW M4 even coming in 2nd in its class, which also led to a well-deserved trophy.
RONAL and SPEEDLINE CORSE are proud of the entire SPEEDLINE RACING team and the performance of every single employee at the Nürburgring!
